Platte City, MO Contractors

Platte City MO sits at the junction of the rural landscape and the urban cityscape. The city's ideal location along Interstate 29 just outside the I-435 loop makes it easy to hop on the freeway and head anywhere in the Kansas City metroplex. Platte City is also just a few minutes from the rest of the world via Kansas City International Airport. At the same time, the community is filled with greenways, dotted with farms and attached to a conservation area. This city of about 5,000 people really is on the edge of big city living but with all of the benefits of a small-town atmosphere.

History of Platte City

Settlers had moved into the area by the late 1830s, and the town was officially formed in 1843. Unfortunately, a Union squad led by Col. James Morgan burned the city and its courthouse to the ground at the end of 1861. The soldiers were seeking a man, Silas Gordan, who had been carrying out raids, kidnapping soldiers and committing sabotage. Gordan left the state for a time but returned in 1864. Union troops responded by setting another fire that included the destruction of a men's college. It's said that Jesse James was planning a bank robbery in Platte City but was killed hours before he could carry it out. The region's colorful history is on display at Ben Ferrell Platte County Museum in Platte City.

Platte City MO Ductless Air Conditioning

Summer heat and humidity intensify quickly in northwest Missouri after long, cold, somewhat snowy winters. In the older sections of Platte City, it can be especially difficult to keep indoor temperatures comfortable. In the past, people who didn't want to install expensive ducting were faced with noisy, ugly window-mount air conditioners as the only option. Now, new wall-mount ductless HVAC systems from Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating are designed to blend into the decor, operate quietly and meet the highest standards for energy efficiency.

Platte City MO ductless air conditioning and ductless heat pump units are designed for converted basements and attics, new commercial spaces and other areas where ducting doesn't make financial sense. These units include washable allergen filters, remote controls for easy adjustments and programmable thermostats. Ductless mini split systems can be controlled on a room-by-room basis to help you save energy. More information and free referrals to certified dealers are available at
